NAVISYS organized a logistics workshop

The workshop titled “Efficient planning and advanced driver communication” was organized at Voroněž hotel in Brno on November 27, 2008. It was intended for logistics experts, transportation company managers and IT managers. The partners of NAVISYS participating in preparation of the workshop were Czech Logistics Association, Telefónica O2 and Microsoft.

The workshop was opened by Pavel Mařica, a pre-sale consultant of NAVISYS, who put before the audience the results of a questionnaire survey based on which the workshop agenda was drafted. The first topic, All-in-One Systems in Logistics, was presented by the general manager of NAVISYS, Michal Češek. In the course of this presentation, the comprehensive logistics information system of BIZ4Logistics, integrated with Microsoft Dynamics®NAV, was introduced. According to our survey, it was this topic which the participants were most interested in and it initiated an interesting discussion.

A representative of Telefónica O2, Petr Matuš, then talked about interoperability of O2 products in logistics and their integration with the BIZ4Logistics solution. An interesting topic presented by Miroslav Šmeral, a senior consultant of NAVISYS, discussed efficient logistics planning. Advanced Driver Comminication followed, presented again by Petr Matuš. At the end a Microsoft representative, Štěpán Bechyňský, introduced briefly new developments in community web portals and their applicability in logistics. Naturally, a number of contests for valuable prizes (Xbox 360 game console, a mobile phone,…) were organized.

Fifteen influential transportation and logistics companies took part in the event. Reactions from the part of the workshop participants were very encouraging. “This workshop met my expectations and it was surprising for me in many aspects.
